GPS equipment supporting the Precise Positioning Service (PPS) are listed on the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) Munitions List. Therefore ITT cannot provide (export) any technical data or perform any service for non-US persons without it having first been cleared for use in the public domain or having a Technical Assistance Agreement (TAA) or a license in place.
Most nations can purchase militarized GPS equipment and in many cases receive technical data to help build their own equipment. The degree of access permitted is generally covered in agreements with the country’s Ministry of Defense (MoD) and the U.S. State Department. Foreign persons who desire access to militarized GPS equipment or technical data should coordinate with their MoD on how to proceed.
If you have needs not currently being addressed in the marketplace we would like to hear from you. ITT has a strong international presence and welcomes opportunities to team with allied nations to develop specialized GPS equipment. ITT is unable however to have technical discussions without an application specific TAA in place. ITT will be happy to work with you in placing a TAA supporting further discussions and activities. Please refer to our contacts page for further assistance.
